Intro to Shortwave Radio Class
Intro to Shortwave Radio Class
It's dark out. The skies are filled with smoke and the dull, orange glow of flames in the distance. Your phone won't connect to the cell tower, the Wi-Fi is out, and the TV isn't picking up any local broadcasts...
What do you do? π¬
In this πnighttimeπ, hands-on beginner class, we'll go over how to get information from shortwave, the forgotten radio band. You'l learn the basics of tuning in to shortwave broadcasts from across the nation and the world to get information during an emergency, create field-expedient antennas, and more!
By the end, you'll know how to work a shortwave radio and what all those weird bleeps and bloops mean. We will also provide light refreshments and exclusive resources that help you make a plan to stay informed during catastrophic events.
Note: one ticket per family. Bring as many of your household members as you like! Also, as we are a working farm with livestock, please leave all pets at home. We reserve the right to reschedule due to weather, but your credit can roll over to the next class (and of course you can request a refund if you prefer).
