Intro to GMRS Class Ticket

Note: one ticket per family. Bring as many of your relatives as you like!

Are you ready to take your emergency radio skills to the next level? Do you have a new GMRS license, but don't want to spend weeks or months researching how to prep your radio?

In this class we'll practice:

• Setting up handheld GMRS radios from scratch
• Finding local emergency frequencies and saving them to the radio
• Communicating effectively with others using a repeater
• ...and more!

By the end, you'll have the skills to listen to key emergency information in your area, and then communicate that information with radio operators in your neighborhood, city, and beyond!

Requirements for this class:

• A current GMRS license for yourself and your guests. You can bring as many family members on that same license as like for one price!
• A computer with WiFi capabilities. We will be downloading and using radio programming software, so you'll need a computer for that part.
• At least one repeater-capable GMRS handheld radio. Optionally, you can purchase one (or more) from us and we will have it charged for you when you arrive.

Note that this talk will involve activities involving transmitting on GMRS handhelds, so all registrants must be a party to an active, current GMRS license per US CFR § 95.1705(c). You will need to know your callsign to register for the class.
